Best Places in Auburn and Opelika and the Columbus Georgia metro area for pictures.

  1. Columbus Riverwalk.  https://visitcolumbusga.com/visit/things-to-do/chattahoochee_riverwalk

This is so diverse. Currently during the summer, you can walk for miles and capture so many scenic backgrounds. You can get married, play with your dog, and when you’re done with photos, you can eat ice cream and go white water rafting. There are restaurants and colleges to visit too. 11th and Bay is my preferred place after a day of weddings or engagement photoshoots.

  1. Davis Arboretum http://www.auburn.edu/cosam/arboretum/ - This is another favorite. If you’re a plant nerd like myself, you can find me here on Saturday mornings. (If I’m not already taken with weddings) Getting married, and family pictures as well as marriage proposals happen here, especially in summer. It is a beauty to behold.

  1. Samford lawn. https://www.aotourism.com/Wedding-and-Event-Planning/60/Samford-Lawn/

This tops Auburn’s second most iconic landmark. Weddings, graduations, proposals and family photos are all done here. Most of the time, the grass in green and the trees are in full bloom.

  1. Chewacla State Park https://www.alapark.com/parks/chewacla-state-park This is another place that is so diverse. Weddings, proposals, camping group pictures are just some of the many things to capture here. When you don’t have your camera in hand by the water falls, bring your bikes……and lots of water. Most important don’t forget to find out when it closes.

  1. Auburn mall https://www.shopauburnalabama.com/ Sometimes it rains a lot here in Central Alabama. When you still need to get a branding session done, head to the mall. The stores and restaurants and the relief from the humidity and the rain is always a good thing, especially in July and August each year.

  1. Bibb Mill https://thebibbmill.com/ _ I had the honor of shooting an Army Ball sponsored by Fort Benning. It was after a down pour and definitely happening in blue hour. This place has created some of my favorite work. I definitely recommend this place for weddings and photoshoots of all kind. The crime in Columbus is through the roof so always keep that in mind.

  1. https://www.aotourism.com/Top-Reasons-to-Love-Auburn-and-Opelika/1/1-Robert-Trent-Jones-Grand-National-Golf-Course/ — ultimately this is a college town. But having a RTJ golf course means lots of revenue. Made for the lovers of golf, getting married is just one of the reasons to come take pictures. The sunsets are a close second.

  1. https://www.aotourism.com/Top-Reasons-to-Love-Auburn-and-Opelika/2/2-Rolling-Toomers-Corner/ - Quite possibly the most famous place in this area, and one of the widely recognized landmarks is Toomers Corner. After an Auburn win, we use lots of toilet paper and roll the corner. This creates some of the best memories as well as the most iconic pictures. Get married on Samford Lawn in the summertime, then celebrate at “home on the corner” with Toomers Lemonade.

  1. https://www.aotourism.com/Accommodations/50/The-Collegiate-Hotel-at-Auburn/- Have you been to the rooftop here??? It is AMAZING views, AMAZING pictures, and a rooftop bar!! I highly recommend bringing your camera and a credit card for the tab.

  1. Heritagehouse1913.com.  - While I have not been here personally, I have been hoping to get potential clients that get married here. This was restored and I am certain that anyone that chooses to stay here or getting here, will absolutely love the beauty and the history. Its a very central location in Opelika, so you can’t miss it.
